Diabetic Foot Care
Diabetes can reduce the sensation in feet therefore increasing the risk of damage to the foot that is not felt by the person. Any cut, graze or blister on the foot of a diabetic person can take longer than normal to heal and causes an increased risk of infection.
For these reasons it is very important that anyone with diabetes has regular podiatry care to help with reducing corns, callus and cutting difficult toe nails. Our podiatrists are also trained to treat diabetic foot ulcerations.
*If you are diabetic and are concerned about a cut, graze or blister on your feet that is not healing as you would expect please tell the receptionist that you need to be seen urgently*
